A series about painting figures and portraits of children and adults within flower beds and flowers. In these films I show different methods and mediums giving you plenty of ways to relate to your subject. We look at light, tones, colour intensity, mood and atmosphere, impressionism and broken colour, photo composites and much more. I show you Oils, watercolours, pastels, acrylic paints and inks.

Artist, writer, potter, angler, craftsman, muscician, angler, photographer, film maker. Taught for 28 years in both the state and private sectors in the UK as a Head of Art Design and Technology then retired ?? :-) due to ill health 20 years ago and moved to France for 8 years and set up my own gallery, chambre d hote, holidays etc. Now recently returned to the UK for family wishes and am in Lincolnshire. 1 of 10 Rosie - Oils over Acrylic underpainting
The first in this series exploring the subject of painting "Figures within Flowers". I use and show clear dmonstrations working in different mediums and methods - of painting adults and children in flower beds.

Another Oil over acrylic underpainting, this time a charming scene of two children, young girls, amongst flowers.

3 of 10 Morning light using Oils - Rosie
Showing how soft and atmospheric effects of morning light and a figue may be acheived using oils. The use of cool colours, focus and close tones.

The use of wet into wet watercolour, gentle washes and delicate glazes to attain a soft, morning light and romantic scene.

A delicate and detailed way to work using watercolour pencils and blending them with water. Great for those wishing to do more illustrative painting or botanical.

A more expressive oil working heavily and rapidly over a dark Acrylic ground.

A rapid, but fun, small portrait painted in oils of a child.

A wonderful, loose and vibrant way to work for this type of scene or Caribbean island colours! We start with a fun way of creating an abstract in inks, wet into wet, then gradually tighten up the work with pastels.

10 of 10 Oil paiting over a white ground - Liz
The final in this series demonstrating an oil painting from start to finish working fat over lean directly and loosely straight onto a white canvas.
