Quamon goes over the blues with a metronome and demonstrates how to walk the bass line over a 12 bar blues in F. Going through the changes he talks about how melody, harmony, rhythm, and dynamics are connected to each other. He also explains how to build melody from the quarter notes to eighth notes to triplets and evan sixteenth notes. This helps the instrumentalist understand how to connect their lines when they improvise once they understand the bass line movement through the changes increasing in rhythmic choices, melodic and harmonic ideas.
